The Office of the Winnebago County State’s Attorney is currently full for 711, law school and college internships for the summer of 2026 and fall of 2026.
We are accepting applications for spring of 2027 and summer of 2027.

This is your opportunity to roll up your sleeves and learn the skills to become an experienced and effective prosecutor that helps protect the community. You will be given tools to learn and develop new skills while doing purposeful work. You will be trusted and encouraged to work both independently and as a team member with colleagues who are working towards a common goal.
We are looking for a candidate to play an essential part in effectively moving defendants through the criminal justice system. Someone who will prioritize the prosecution of those violent criminals and divert non-violent offenders from the criminal justice system. This is what we strive for at the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. If you possess a strong passion for serving others in a fast-paced environment, we are looking for you.
Individuals interested in applying for an Internship in our Civil and Criminal Bureau should provide a cover letter, resume and references (with email addresses). Interns with a 711 license will receive compensation.
